We’re just arrived in LA and with ten minutes to spare and a free internet connection, so I thought I’d update you all on where we’re up to.
We’ve three days left of the whole trip before we fly home; between last you heard of us and now, we’ve camped in Yosemite and the Grand Canyon, seen wild bears and tarantulas (really!), bet and lost a grand total of $4 in Las Vegas, and had one very exciting development happen that we’re not telling anyone about until we’re home…
I’ll try and do a major update before we get home, but I doubt I’ll get the time – but be sure that I’ll finish off this blog as soon as I can, if nothing but to keep a record of everything we’ve done.
Anyway, we’re off to Hollywood: see you all in the flesh soon!

It seems that my dangling of news has created a minor texting sensation in Melbourne. To that, let me just say that it really isn’t very exciting news, only exciting to us and a few others, and comes as a result of thinking that really only our family reads this blog. Does anyone (not Michael, I knew you were joking!) seriously think that we would have been married in Vegas, and if so, that we would have announced the fact on our travel blog? Seriously?
Also, sorry Christina, no, we don’t get home until the 23rd, but yes, hopefully we can catch up soon!

On Saturday night round the table in Mascoma Street the speculation was rife and you and Tash getting married in Vegas was one of the tamer suggestions (although, as you correctly surmised, we were joking). (You can get good deals on a chapel, blood tests and honeymoon suite package – don’t rule it out).
So my second guess is that you feature in a vox pop shot after the Half Blood Prince show that you saw in LA.
By the way, your Dad is now so famous that the roofer who came to see Wardlow last Saturday told me he had seen him on Hot Seat (didn’t mention your mother I’m afraid – remembered your Dad from the Wardlow roof work in 2006. I promised to get him your dad’s autograph. Michael

I am quite perturbed that I have to make up all that you did since your Last Post – I have to imagine some of that wonderful travel writing that I have been reading over the last 5 months, and imagine those beautiful photgraphs that I am sure were taken – so is any of this available to your Adoring Public??
